Why We’re Throwing a Party This Saturday

You're invited to a party this Saturday at Liberty State Park! It's an opportunity to support the staff and teen interns at New City Kids, one of Hoboken Grace’s partners, while those who lead, love and serve 24/7 during the school year get to take a break and have some fun together.

A Night of Prayer, A Month of Rhythms

At Night of Prayer earlier this year, Devin was handed a card with a string attached – the type of string you might tie around your finger as a reminder. He was told to jot down the things he was struggling with – the areas in his life he would hand over to God that month. “And at the end of the month, I looked back at it and I was so moved over how those things played out,” Devin said.

Building Community, One Meal at a Time

For Julia, who has attended Hoboken Grace for several years, the welcoming atmosphere on Sunday mornings has always been apparent. There’s a sense of responsibility for one another and for the city itself, she noticed. It was that sense of community that inspired Julia to start praying about ways to reach and love the Hoboken community at large.

Summer at the Movies

Just like that long-awaited sequel, Hoboken Grace is back at the movies this summer – Movies Under the Stars, that is. A group will be handing out popcorn at the city’s free movie screening at Pier A each Wednesday night. The summer series kicked off yesterday evening.

Growing Together

"...We don't have a religion, we have a relationship with God. We don't give Him our leftovers, we give Him our all. And the only way we can do that is if we take the time to invest in that relationship, invest in ourselves and continue to grow in our faith, together, as a church community." That's where opportunities like Amplify come in.

What’s Holding You Back?

Sometimes I don’t believe my head and my heart communicate with one another. Do you have this problem? I can tell myself 100 times: You need to get up and exercise because it benefits your health and wellness. Or, pick up that book you’ve been slowly working through, it’s better for your brain and vocabulary than binge-watching Netflix. But often my heart’s cravings win over my head’s logic.

Laying a Solid Foundation

I grew up in a traditional household and attended a pretty traditional church. While I never walked away from Christ (or so I had thought), I moved away from the idea of a brick-and-mortar place of worship some time ago. For me, attending a weekly service felt like I was just going through the motions.

It’s Back!

Amplify is back! Hoboken Grace’s one-day growth conference is designed to boost your faith and your pursuit of Christ by equipping you to move forward in specific areas of personal growth. That might mean developing stronger spiritual habits, exploring your gifts, gaining confidence in telling your story or learning new ways to read different books of the Bible.

Our Biggest Celebration

We officially kicked off the season of Easter last week with our first Ash Wednesday service. That was only the beginning. We're pulling out all the stops this year, celebrating Easter with seven services over one epic weekend. And then there's the Easter Egg Hunt, with two hunts for twice the fun.

The Hunt That Changed Everything

Around this time last year, Gwen and her family were looking for a church. They’d visited a few in the area but hadn’t yet found a place to call home. Then a friend invited Gwen and her son to Hoboken Grace’s Easter Egg Hunt. “I thought it’d be fun,” she says, but she didn't have any other expectations.

Shattered Egg-spectations

Last spring, Hoboken Grace was a new church for me, and I was exploring some of its activities. The week before Easter, the church was throwing a free Easter Egg Hunt at a huge, fenced-in sports field on Jackson Street. I was planning to stop by for just a half-hour to get a feel for the event. It wasn't anything like what I expected.
