Rest for the Future

Hebrews 1:3 NLT

The Son radiates God’s own glory and expresses the very character of God, and he sustains everything by the mighty power of his command. When he had cleansed us from our sins, he sat down in the place of honor at the right hand of the majestic God in heaven.

Psalms 145:16–17 NLT

When you open your hand, you satisfy the hunger and thirst of every living thing.

The LORD is righteous in everything he does; he is filled with kindness.

Colossians 1:17 NLT

He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together.

Acts 17:27–28 NLT

“His purpose was for the nations to seek after God and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him—though he is not far from any one of us. For in him we live and move and exist. As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’

1 Corinthians 8:6 NLT

But we know that there is only one God, the Father, who created everything, and we live for him. And there is only one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom God made everything and through whom we have been given life.

Matthew 11:25–26 NLT

At that time Jesus prayed this prayer: “O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, thank you for hiding these things from those who think themselves wise and clever, and for revealing them to the childlike. Yes, Father, it pleased you to do it this way!

Jeremiah 29:11 NLT

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.

Luke 12:6–7 NLT

“What is the price of five sparrows—two copper coins? Yet God does not forget a single one of them. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.

James 1:16–18 NLT

So don’t be misled, my dear brothers and sisters. Whatever is good and perfect comes down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow. He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his prized possession.

Ephesians 2:10 NLT

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

Do you commit to raise your child as God’s. What a special gift you have been given for a season:

  • God loves your child more than you do
  • God knows your child better than you do

God has a better plan for your child than you do.

John 3:16, Psalm 139:13, Jer. 29:11

Do you commit to teaching and training your child to leave by:

  • Putting your relationship with God first
  • Putting your marriage second
  • Putting your child third

Ephesians 5:1, Ephesians 5:25, Ephesians 6:1

Do you commit to creating a safe place for your child to meet Christ:

  • By being humble and growing in Christ yourselves.
  • By welcoming rebuke when you are wrong
  • By being the same people in public as you are at home.

Deuteronomy 6:6-7, 1 Peter 5:5

Hoboken Grace commits to create a safe church family:

  • By joining together to fight gossip and broken relationships in our church family.
  • By admonishing each other when we are wrong.
  • By welcoming rebuke when we are wrong as a church.

By showing the authentic love Christ has for each of these children.

Silence

Every week we take a moment to ensure that we don’t miss out on what is most valuable today. We want to make sure we engage our God as we walk through today’s service together. During Silence the band will play quietly and you will simply have a few moments to engage God in a personal conversation about where you are today.

Music

One of the powerful ways we honor God and display our appreciation for Him is through music. Feel free to listen if you’re just getting started, but we invite you to join us in celebrating Him through todays music.

Communion

Today, we invite you to join us in celebrating the Lord’s Supper, as Jesus and His disciples did during his last night before giving his life for them. The bread and wine symbolize Jesus’ body and blood, calling us to remember the sacrifice he made for us so that we could be made right with God. You do not need to be a member of this church to take communion.
