Who’s Winning?

When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things. 1 Corinthians 13:11

Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out.

Thrive: grow, develop well, prosper, flourish

Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

(John 8:31–32 NLT-SE)

The crooked heart will not prosper; the lying tongue tumbles into trouble.

(Proverbs 17:20 NLT-SE)

Don’t put the other person in a place that you want them to lie to you.

Don’t expect the other person to know.

Don’t punish the other person for being honest.

Honesty is not dumping on another person.

Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry.  James 1:19

Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your Christian hope, always be ready to explain it. But do this in a gentle and respectful way. Keep your conscience clear. Then if people speak against you, they will be ashamed when they see what a good life you live because you belong to Christ. 1 Peter 3:15–16

Don’t equate truth with opinion.

It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out.

Fools have no interest in understanding; they only want to air their own opinions.

(Proverbs 18:2 NLT-SE)

The fear of human opinion disables; trusting in God protects you from that.

Proverbs 29:25 (MSG)

God would surely have known it, for he knows the secrets of every heart.

Psalm 44:21

Silence

Every week we take a moment to ensure that we don’t miss out on what is most valuable today. We want to make sure we engage our God as we walk through today’s service together. During Silence the band will play quietly and you will simply have a few moments to engage God in a personal conversation about where you are today.

Music

One of the powerful ways we honor God and display our appreciation for Him is through music. Feel free to listen if you’re just getting started, but we invite you to join us in celebrating Him through todays music.

Communion

Today, we invite you to join us in celebrating the Lord’s Supper, as Jesus and His disciples did during his last night before giving his life for them. The bread and wine symbolize Jesus’ body and blood, calling us to remember the sacrifice he made for us so that we could be made right with God. You do not need to be a member of this church to take communion.
