JOB POSITION Comptroller
SUPERVISOR Operations Managing Director
LOCATION Hoboken, NJ
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have five years experience in accounting
- Must have human resource and staff management experience
- Must have excellent communication, multitasking, and planning skills
- Must have strong organizational skills
- Must have an understanding of Church related employment practices
- Must be able to recruit, hire, place, develop, lead and train employees and those serving
- Must be extremely detail oriented
- Must have a Bachelor and/or Masters degree in accounting
- Must have CPA/CMA or be on track to obtaining a CPA/CMA license
- Must live up to the Leadership Commitment
JOB DESCRIPTION
Financial responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Reconcile bank statements monthly
- Ensure all credit card transactions are accurately recorded in the proper account
- Ensure all donations are recorded accurately and timely in Hoboken Grace’s accounting system
- Prepare month end reports
- Analyze results and provide insight to the Managing Director, Elders, and/or Trustees
- Lead the annual external audit and assist auditors in completing their fieldwork timely
- Process payroll for Hoboken Grace staff and ensure all benefit changes are accurately reflected
- Review and process staff reimbursements and ensure all expenses are in accordance with church policy
Human Resources responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive human resources plan with policies, structures, and processes that support Hoboken Grace in areas of compensation, payroll, performance, people development and movement, recruitment, training, staff and volunteer relations, and benefits
- Provide strategic advice to Hoboken Grace staff and leaders on leadership and employee best practices
- Lead efforts to recruit potential Hoboken Grace employees and volunteers to fill strategic hiring and serving needs
- Recruit, develop and maintain volunteers with human resources and other relevant expertise who can serve as advisors for Hoboken Grace on human resources topics
- Help identify, develop, and execute activities that build relationships and maintain a healthy culture between various teams within the Hoboken Grace staff and volunteers
- Keep an accurate record of employee files for Hoboken Grace in a way that ensures compliance with all federal and state employment laws
- Manage the open enrollment process for benefits
- Participate in all staff meetings and planning sessions
