Hoboken Grace is excited to announce that this year we are taking part in Giving Tuesday! Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving that is observed on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, right after the well-known shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday. The initiative was started four years ago by 92nd Street Y, a cultural center in New York City that encourages people to join forces and serve the community by giving back.
Giving Tuesday goes hand in hand with Hoboken Grace’s mission to love like Jesus by giving selflessly. All the offerings donated through Giving Tuesday will go toward funding our ability to love locally and globally as we serve and partner with amazing organizations in Hoboken and around the world. These organizations include but are not limited to LiNK (working with North Korean refugees), Casa Hogar Alegre (working with orphans in Mexico), Potter’s House (building homes in Guatemala), and TRUE Mentors (providing mentorship to teens here in Hoboken).
How can you participate? Beginning on December 1st, you will see a Christmas Offering designation choice available on Hoboken Grace’s online giving page and in the PushPay app. After December 1st, you’ll still be able to contribute to these groups through our Christmas Offering. You can donate online or there will be special Christmas envelopes at each Sunday service.
This is a powerful opportunity to be a part of something bigger than ourselves and to harness our potential to bring real change in communities around the world during the holiday season.
