As we recognize Good Friday, many of us respond with joy and gratitude for the sacrifice that Jesus made for all of us on the cross. But imagine how that day must have felt at the time. Today, we know of it as Good Friday because we know how the story ends. But to the disciples and those who witnessed, it was probably seen as a very bad Friday. A horrific and confusing Friday. As we come together in remembrance of this world-changing event, let’s never forget the extent of Jesus’s sacrifice so that we could be made new in His name.
