At Hoboken Grace, we believe in the power of community to inspire change—not just in our hearts but in the world around us. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce Be Rich, a church-wide initiative launching February 2025. Over nine weeks, we’ll embark on a transformative journey through Financial Peace University (FPU), equipping us to take control of our finances and live with greater purpose.
“Be Rich” isn’t about wealth for its own sake; it’s about freedom. Freedom to give generously, love extravagantly, and impact our community boldly. Our vision is to see every person at Hoboken Grace experience the joy of financial peace and be positioned to make a lasting difference.
In 2018, we walked this road together, and the results were life-changing. Families found hope, marriages grew stronger, and our groups flourished. This February, we’ll do it again—this time with even greater anticipation of what God will do.
Nine Weeks, Two Hours at a Time Each FPU session will include time to connect, a 30-45 minute video, and meaningful group discussions. By sharing honestly and supporting one another, groups will become places of transformation—financially, relationally, and spiritually.
Meeting Options Your group will decide where to meet—whether it’s at our building alongside other groups or in the comfort of someone’s home. For those meeting at the church, we’re opening the building four nights a week for large gatherings, with groups breaking into smaller tables for discussions.
Sunday Messages Our Sunday services will align with the FPU curriculum, as Pastor Chris and Anthony share messages that set the stage for the week. These teachings will connect biblical principles with practical steps for financial health.
Discussing finances is deeply personal, but it’s also a gateway to intimacy and trust. Over these nine weeks, your group will grow closer as you navigate challenges, celebrate victories, and support one another. We aim to keep groups intact with minimal reshuffling, though every group will need a facilitator to guide discussions.
Don’t worry if you’re new to FPU—this fall, we’ll offer training opportunities for facilitators, or we’ll pair your group with someone ready to lead.
Everyone. We need 120 groups to bring this vision to life, and we’re calling on former participants and new volunteers alike to step up. Whether it’s leading a temporary group or inviting friends to join, your involvement could change lives.
In 2018, we watched as our community prepared for the unexpected. Though no one could foresee the challenges of the pandemic, many in our church found themselves secure—able to weather the storm financially and extend generosity to others—because they had laid a foundation of financial wisdom and freedom.
Be Rich is about taking that same intentional approach today. It’s about being ready for whatever life brings so that we can live with open hands and hearts, responding to the needs of others and advancing God’s mission in the world. When we position ourselves well, we are free to make an impact.
Are you ready to prepare for the future, for the people in your life, and for the opportunities God will place before you? Let’s Be Rich—together.
