Just like that long-awaited sequel, Hoboken Grace is back at the movies this summer — Movies Under the Stars, that is.
A group will be handing out popcorn at the city’s free movie screening at Pier A each Wednesday night, starting June 20. The series kicked off this week with a showing of La La Land.
Hoboken Grace began serving popcorn at the event two years ago, handing out 250 to 500 bags each night.
Like Simple Service, it’s an easy — not to mention fun — way to love and support our community.
“I love when people come up and ask, ‘How much?’ and we tell them ‘It’s free,’” Anthony said previously. “They’re completely shocked. When they ask, ‘Why free?’ it’s a great opportunity to tell them about Hoboken Grace and how we strive to love our community any way we can.”
The group handing out popcorn might be an entire dinner group one week, or a contingent of individual volunteers available that night. If you’re interested in helping out, email James at james@hobokengrace.com with the Wednesday night dates you’re available.
Movies start at 9 p.m. in June and July and 8 p.m. in August. You can find more information about the event and each film on the city’s website.
